For more than a century tea has been an inseparable constituent of central European gastronomy. Initially, it was prepared in its pure loose form, but the invention of the tea bag containing finely cut tea proved revolutionary. Since then, preparing the drink has simplified significantly, and the tea bag has dominated gastronomy and the entire tea sector for many decades.
However, it would seem that people are ever more interested in a return to past methods, which is backed up by a rise in the popularity of loose tea. Therefore, in order to broaden the appeal of tea in its loose form, Oxalis has launched the OXABAG. This original product provides the exact same indulgent sensation of drinking loose tea, but does so in a way corresponding to the fast pace of life today.
The OXABAG range encompasses a selection of 12 loose teas from our existing assortment, packed with great care in tea bags of 5 g (fruit infusions) or 4 g (other types). Naturally, they are completely identical to the loose teas bearing the same names – sharing the self-same blends and methods of manufacture. In fact, it is easy to make out the tea leaves and other components present within the bags, and just one tea bag enables 400 – 500 ml of delicate tea to be conveniently prepared.
In recent years, Chinese blooming teas have become hugely popular. We offer 14 types of these rare teas, which come individually packed especially for the gastronomy sector. The high quality of the tea (white or green) and impressive display during infusion (the tea opens up to reveal a colourful flower) is sure to please even a tea connoisseur.
A trend visible in western European countries is ever greater emphasis on typical loose tea in modern gastronomy. Consequently, so as to meet this demand, we offer everything necessary to make this viable. Therefore, using the appropriate accessories (strainers and infusers, cups, teapots), a customer familiar with their use can prepare tea in the traditional way themselves.
