It has a long tradition in European culture and is among the most cherished herbs in Czech herbal practice.In the past, lemon balm was highly valued across Europe – in ancient times it was regarded as a herb of joy and a “clear, happy mind”, while in medieval monasteries it was a staple of every herb garden, forming part of daily infusions and aromatic blends.In scientific literature, it is mentioned in connection with respiratory comfort, digestion, hormonal balance and mental well-being (relaxation, positive mood, sleep). However, under EU legislation, we cannot state any health effects of herbs.It is excellent in tea blends, homemade syrups and refreshing summer beverages.
Preparation
Use 2.5 g (approx. 2 heaped tsp) of the herb per 250 ml of freshly boiled water and leave it to infuse for 8-10 minutes; then strain. Drink 1-2 times a day.
