What We Are Preparing in the Area of Packaging

Caring for the environment is an important topic for us at OXALIS. That is why we choose packaging solutions that are environmentally friendly while reliably protecting the quality of our products. We have succeeded in finding natural materials that perfectly protect tea and, at the same time, can be relatively easily decomposed in a home compost after use.

Since November 2020, we have been offering loose-leaf teas in our stores in new compostable pouches that meet strict environmental standards. These are practical doypack pouches with a zipper, designed for convenient everyday use. Thanks to this solution, we were also able to eliminate plastic clips with metal wires that were previously part of the packaging.

How should I dispose of the packaging?

You can dispose of the used packaging as sorted waste in the blue paper recycling bin or simply bury it in your garden. The packaging is fully biodegradable and can serve as a natural fertilizer in compost.

We are working on developing new packaging:

Packaging is just as important to us as the product itself – it must protect product quality, preserve freshness, and remain practical for everyday use. We are aware that the current pouches may show reduced zipper functionality, and we take this customer feedback seriously. We are therefore currently preparing a new version of the pouches made from PE material, focusing on more reliable and comfortable resealing while maintaining protection of product quality and freshness. At the same time, we are looking for a solution that will be sustainable in the long term and compatible with standard plastic recycling practices.

The changes will be introduced gradually after internal testing has been completed. Our goal is for the packaging to reflect the quality of the products it contains and to provide you with greater comfort in everyday use.
