Cascara Costa Rica Alajuela Natural, 500 g

Coffee beans are hidden inside a sweet coffee cherry. When these cherries are dried, they become cascara. This cascara comes from Hacienda Sonora, a farm where high-quality coffee has been grown and processed for over 50 years at an altitude of 1,250 metres above sea level. The coffee plants are cultivated on the slopes surrounding the Poás volcano in Costa Rica’s Central Valley, an area with extensive untouched jungle. The cascara is processed using the natural method, in which whole coffee cherries are dried directly in the sun, allowing them to retain maximum natural sugars and aroma. The result is an intensely fruity cascara with notes of apple cider, hibiscus and delicate honeyed sweetness. It is ideal for preparing a refreshing drink, either hot or cold, or as a base for unique coffee lemonades. Cascara naturally contains caffeine.

Pour 1l of boiling water into 20g of Cascara (approx. 10 heaped teaspoons). Leave to infuse for 10 mins. Strain and serve.
