Description
Green rooibos comes, just like its red counterpart, from the Aspalathus linearis shrub, which grows exclusively in South Africa. The shrub is made up of thin branches and small, needle-like leaves (about 1 cm long), growing either individually or in clusters. Unlike the better-known red rooibos, green rooibos does not undergo fermentation, which allows it to retain its lighter green colour, milder flavour, and a higher level of antioxidants. In taste, it is light and more herbal. Rooibos is naturally caffeine-free, making it suitable for drinking throughout the day, including in the evening. It tastes excellent hot or as an iced tea, where its clean, natural flavour really stands out. According to current EU legislation, we cannot claim any health benefits of herbs.
Preparation
Use 10 g of tea (approx. 6 even tsp) per 1 l of boiling water. Allow to infuse for 5 minutes. Then strain.
