Description
Rooibos is a South African shrub (Aspalathus linearis) with thin branches and small, needle-like leaves approximately 1 cm long. It grows exclusively on plantations in the Cape region of South Africa. Like green rooibos, it has needle-shaped leaves, but unlike the green variety, it undergoes fermentation. This process gives the tea its characteristic reddish-brown colour, pleasantly sweet flavour, and delicate honey notes. It tastes excellent both hot and chilled. Rooibos is naturally caffeine-free and suitable for drinking throughout the day. In accordance with current EU legislation, we cannot state any health effects of herbs.
Preparation
Use 10 g of tea (approx. 6 even tsp) for 1 l of boiling water. Allow to infuse for 5 minutes. Then strain.
