Description
This tea comes from the Guria region in western Georgia, where fresh mountain air meets the humid climate influenced by the Black Sea. The name Egrisi recalls the ancient Georgian kingdom that preceded present-day western Georgia and symbolizes the region's rich history. The tea is organically grown from the leaves of the Georgian Kolkhida cultivar, prized for its full-bodied flavour and natural sweetness. The evenly rolled dark brown leaves produce a clear amber infusion. Both the aroma and flavour are malty, with notes of Turkish delight, dried apricots, and orange.
Preparation
Use 12 g of tea (approx. 6 heaped tsp) per 1 l of freshly boiled water. Allow to infuse for 3-5 minutes. Then strain. Suitable for 1-2 infusions.
