Description
This tea garden lies between the Brahmaputra River and the world-famous Kaziranga National Park, home to the Indian rhinoceros. The name Chardwar translates as “tea garden with four gates to heaven” - with Char meaning “four” and Dwar meaning “doors.” The black tea leaves yield an orange infusion, with candied orange dominating both aroma and flavour. The taste is accompanied by gentle tannins, reminiscent of the smoothness of matured red wine. This tea is particularly outstanding when enjoyed with milk.
Preparation
Use 12 g of tea (approx. 5 heaped tsp) per 1 l of freshly boiled water. Infuse for 3 minutes. Then strain. Suitable for 1 infusion.
